Run Over to Orlando for Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend

Runners, both amateurs and experts alike, should lace up their sneakers and grab their forks for Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.

Thursday, November 3 through Sunday, November 6, 2016, the race is on. Runs, marathons, and half marathons will be taking place all over Walt Disney World® in Orlando, including Epcot® and Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.

Evenings, after the races are finished, there will be tons of delicious food from all over the world ready for noshing.

The Half Marathon, the title event, will take place early in the morning on Sunday, November 6th. Participants will run through Walt Disney World Resort®, ending at Epcot®.

The Disney® Wine & Dine 10K will happen Saturday, Nov. 5th throughout Epcot®.

Lumiere’s™ Two-Course Challenge signs you up for two races – the 10K on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday.

Mickey’s™ Holiday 5K will be held Friday, November 4th, and is a fun event for all ages wanting to try a 5K in Orlando.

Special kids races in Orlando include 100m to 400m dashes as well as a 1-mile run.

All runners must register for their chosen races. Spectators may purchase a special package for reserved race seating.

runDisney™ Health & Fitness Expo

For everything related to health & fitness in Orlando, the Expo is the place to be. Race merchandise plus athletic gear, nutritional products, and training seminars will be available at the Expo all weekend long.

Post-Race Party

After your race, celebrate at the Post-Race Party at the Epcot® Food and Wine Festival. The event features over 30 different cuisines to try from all over the world, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. Plus, live music and a DJ will keep the party hopping.

Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2016 has all the fun of Universal with a terrifying twist. The streets will come alive with monsters and mayhem, and you’ll have your pick of horrifying haunted houses, live shows, blood-curdling scare zones, and all of the rides you can handle.

Halloween Horror Nights is happening now and will run on select dates through October 31. Hours vary – some nights last from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., and some last from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

A whopping total of nine haunted houses offer up the chills and screams, with many of them modeled after your favorite horror movies (The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and AMC's The Walking Dead for example). Rides

Some of the most popular rides are ready to go – if you make it there. Climb aboard Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, or buckle up for Transformers: The Ride 3D. Even more rides are waiting to offer the ultimate in thrilling adventure.

Shows

Special shows for Halloween include Academy of Villains: House of Fear (where the inmates at an insane asylum break out and start running the show) and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure (based on the movie, with a Halloween twist).

Among the new additions to the horror-fest this year are The Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted maze, and haunted houses featuring experiences from The Exorcist, American Horror Story, and Krampus.

Every weekend in October is a chance to experience Halloween under the sea. SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular brings the tricks and treats for kids and adults of all ages with a big splash of fun. The Russell Home

A large part of the event includes donations to the Russell Home for Atypical Children. This is a non-profit organization that focuses on caring for special needs children with mental or physical impairments or disabilities. For every meal that is purchased through the event, a portion will go toward this special charity.

Held every summer, the Florida Kids and Family Expo is a wonderful opportunity to discover a little something for the whole family. Join in on August 27-28, 2016 at the Orange County Convention Center.
